Publication Ethics

Rahpooye Hekmat-e Honar considers itself obliged to observe the principles of professional ethics. Although it is not yet a full member of the International Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), it considers its publication subject to the Creative Common Attributions 4.0 license and to comply with the Ethical Charter of Publications of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. In line with this valuable move, this magazine is committed to the following principles:

  • Charter of Research Ethics Publications of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

    In this regard, the following items are considered ethical standards for the editors of the magazine (including the editor, consultants, and judges), as well as the audience of the magazine (including the principal authors and collaborators, consultants or collaborators whose titles are mentioned in the appreciation section, readers and other researchers), should be implemented:

 

General principles

  • The journal welcomes the acceptance of authoritative research articles containing new scientific findings and is exempt from publishing articles based on compilation or translation.
  • Submissions should not be published in other domestic or foreign journals. Also, after its acceptance, the right to post the article is reserved for publication, and the author (s) is not allowed to publish it in other journals.
  • The publication is free to accept, reject, modify, and edit received articles.
  • Only articles published in this journal that has not been posted in domestic and foreign journals are published.
  • Publishing submitted works does not necessarily mean agreeing with the authors, and the magazine is not responsible in this regard.

 

Ethical principles for the editor

  • The editor respects the authors' intellectual independence.
  • The editor's view of all articles submitted to the journal is non-discriminatory. The evaluation of the received articles is based on the qualifications of the articles and without considering the race, religion, nationality, gender, position, and organizational affiliation of the author (s).
  • The editor reviews all received articles in a reasonable amount of time.
  • The final response to the rejection or acceptance of an article is based on the opinions received by the judges and the journal's editorial board. Papers may be rejected due to plagiarism, inconsistency with the journal's subject matter, or lack of the required minimum standards for initial review without review.
  • The right to reject articles suspected of non-compliance with ethical principles is reserved for the editor.
  • The editor has full authority to appoint the judges of each article. The editor may ask the magazine's editorial board or even the authors of the pieces for comment.
  • The editor or internal manager of the journal (on behalf of) is responsible for obtaining copyright forms, inquiring about the originality of the article, conflicting potential interests, and the commitment form in order not to send the original or a similar copy of the report to other journals, even in different formats. The responsibility of the responsible author for acquittal will also be obtained.
  • Since the review of articles written by the editor for publication in the journal will be a conflict of interest, the study of such reports will be left to another editorial board member.
  • The editor welcomes the reports of possible errors in articles published in the journal. If confirmed, the magazine's audience will hear the discovered errors as soon as possible.

 

Ethical principles for judges

  • Since the process of judging an article is one of the basic steps in accepting an essay, if the respected judge feels that the submitted article is not in his field of expertise for any reason, he should return the paper to the editor immediately.
  • The reviewer respects the intellectual independence of the author of the article and must evaluate the quality of the article impartially.
  • The reviewer should feel responsible for the principle of non-conflict of interest when judging a published article. If he thinks it conflicts with his work, he should immediately return the paper to the editor and inform him of potential conflicts of interest or abuse.
  • The arbitrator should look at the article received for arbitration as a confidential document. The arbitrator should not share the paper with others or discuss it with others unless they wish to use the views of others in the arbitration process.
  • The arbitrator must attach the necessary explanations about their comments.
  • The judge should consider the authors' negligence in citing similar work.
  • Delays in judging an article seem normal. However, referees should notify the editor of possible delays and set a new time for judging.
  • The reviewers are not allowed to use the unpublished information, discussions, and interpretations of others that have been submitted to this journal in the form of articles in their work without the permission of the author (s) of the article.
  • Judges should inform the editor of cases where it is suspected that the investigation report received may in some way be directly abused.

 

Ethical principles for writers

  • The primary moral responsibility of an author is to present an accurate article or report of the research done and try not to commit plagiarism in any way, including word-for-word or close-to-the-point interpretation, quoting similar text or the results of other people's research. Is.
  • Upon request, the author must provide the necessary evidence regarding the submitted article and the research done, including article data, documents, and images, to the journal's editorial board.
  • Proper citation is required for all sources that have been used, either directly or indirectly.
  • Suppose the article has already been rejected (in this journal or other journals) or removed from the publishing process. In that case, the author should inform the editor and explain the possible reasons for the rejection or exit from the publication cycle or possible corrections made.
  • All prominent authors and contributors whose titles are listed in the author’s section of an article must have at least some scientific involvement in preparing the paper. Other contributors should be mentioned in the acknowledgment section. The author's team says the names of eligible colleagues. The responsible author must send a copy of the article submitted to the journal to other co-authors and obtain their consent to mention the title as a co-author.
  • Papers have been taken from doctoral and master's theses should be submitted to the editorial board by the supervisor. The names of the consulting professors (if any) should be mentioned in the row of co-authors.
  • The responsibility for reporting potential conflicts of interest and research sponsors rests with the author.

  • Inserting the authors’ names in the article is their central role in compiling the paper. If the paper’s authors did not play a role in collecting the report and their names will be misused by publishing the article, they should be notified immediately via email.

  • The Islamic Philosophy and Wisdom Guide reviews articles submitted to the journal system before the judging process through the Iran Information Science and Technology Research Institute (Irandak) or the Sinaweb matching system.

According to the International Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), plagiarism is the unintentional or unintentional use of words, ideas, phrases, claims, or citations of others without proper appreciation and explanation of the author, author, or speaker. Therefore, it is expected that the authors of scientific works in their work carefully record the use of the results of others and bring this use to the attention of the audience in a way that, in addition to maintaining honesty, is protected from accusations of deception, negligence, and plagiarism.

 

 

The following are examples of plagiarism:

  • Submit another article in your name;
  • Include names of authors and researchers who have no role in the article;
  • Copy or duplicate significant sections of another article; (Even if the copied article, without reference, belongs to one of the authors of the new article);
  • To conclude the research of others in one's name;
  • Reprinting an article by an author in several journals;
  • Expressing incorrect results contrary to scientific findings or distorting research results;
  • Use of invalid data or manipulation of research data.

 

Dealing with plagiarism

  • The editors of the publication investigate cases of plagiarism. In addition, to protect the credibility and efforts of other researchers, without any tolerance or waiver, considering the extent of plagiarism, the following will be dealt with legally:
  • The article will be rejected and will be removed from the sites if it is published.
  • The plagiarism case will be shared in an official letter with other universities and related domestic and foreign journals.
  • An official letter will notify the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the Islamic World Science Citation Database (ISC), universities, institutes, journals, and any place where the authors have used the copyright in this article.
  • Rahpooye Hekmat-e Honar uses the Iran Research Institute of Information Science and Technology (Irandak) matching system to compare articles.

  • Study design and ethical approval

Good research should have a logical order and a suitable research plan and should comply with the ethical criteria of the research. Conducting research with lower standards may be considered research misconduct. The authors of the article are responsible for the entire scientific content as well as the accuracy of the bibliographic information.

Conflicts of interest are among those that may not be fully apparent and may influence the judgment of authors, reviewers, and editors. They are described as things that, when revealed later, lead the reader astray or be deceived. Conflicts of interest may be personal, commercial, political, academic, or financial. "Financial" benefits may include employment, research funding, payment for lectures or travel, consulting and company support for employees.

  • Specialized arbitration process

Rahpooye Hekmat-e Honar uses double-blind peer review, which means that during the review process, both the reviewer's identity and the author's identity are hidden from the reviewers, and vice versa. To facilitate this, authors should ensure that their submissions are prepared in a way that does not identify them. Authors have the right to communicate with the editor and notify the journal system at the time of submission if they do not want their article to be reviewed by a specific reviewer due to a possible conflict of interest. After the judging process, if two referees have a negative opinion regarding the acceptance of the article, the article will be rejected and the author(s) will be notified.

  • Archival policy
  • Authors of Rahpooye Hekmat-e Honar can archive copies of their articles on their web pages, company web pages, and various scientific databases.
  • Rahpooye Hekmat-e Honar is published under an open-access license, according to which the articles can be immediately made available to the public under certain conditions. If an author has published an article under an open-access license, this journal encourages the author to share the final version of the article.
  • Authors may also reuse abstract and citation information (such as title, author name, and publication date) of their paper anywhere and at any time, including social media such as LinkedIn, Research Gate, Facebook, blogs, and Twitter, provided that a link to Article in the magazine, to be added. Preferably, the link should include the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) found in the citation information about the article online.
  • The contents and articles of Rahpooye Hekmat-e Honar magazine have been officially archived in the long-term archive of the National Library and Records Organization of Iran (NLAI).
  • Release schedule

Rahpooye Hekmat-e Honar magazine is published twice a year. All articles published from the beginning until now are available on the dedicated website (http://rph.soore.ac.ir/).

  • Information privacy protection statement
  • All articles are reviewed with the utmost care and confidentiality of the authors' information. Disclosure of confidential details during review of an author's paper may be a violation of their rights.
  • Referees also have confidentiality rights that the editor must respect. Confidentiality may be breached if there is suspicion of dishonesty or fraud in the article.
  • In addition to authors and reviewers, editors are prohibited from disclosing information about articles, including receipt, content, status in the review process, reviewer criticism, or final publication status of the article.
  • Editors must explain to the reviewers that the articles submitted for review are the property and private property of the authors. Consequently, reviewers and editorial staff should respect the rights of authors by refraining from publicly publishing or appropriating authors' works prior to publication.
  • Reviewers should not be allowed to make copies of the article for themselves and share it with others, unless the editor gives them permission.
  • After submission of comments, reviewers must return or destroy copies received from the editor.
  • Editors should not retain copies of rejected articles.

Also, review comments should not be published publicly without the permission of the reviewer, author and editor.

All articles in this magazine are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License 4.0 International (CC-BY 4.0). The policy of Rahpooye Hekmat-e Honar magazine is based on not publishing any advertisements on the magazine's website or published articles.

 

  • Correction or withdrawal of published articles

Sometimes, due to necessity, the publication may be forced to publish an amendment or retract the published article. According to the criteria agreed upon by the academic community, this is usually done by publishing a "correction" or "retraction" without making any changes to the original article and only by publishing a new article that implies the amendment or retraction. The original article remains in the public domain and should usually be indexed in a subsequent Erratum or Retraction. In cases where the content of the article cannot be modified, we may have to remove the content from our website and archive sites. It may be necessary for the original author(s) to make minor corrections to the published articles by commenting on the published article. This action will be acceptable only if the corrections do not affect the results or conclusions of the article.

 

  • Amendment

Changes to published articles that affect the meaning and outcome of the article, but do not invalidate the entire article, may be corrected at the discretion of the editor or editorial board members by publishing an indexed amendment linked to the original article. Changes in the authorship of published articles are corrected through corrections.

 

  • Reclaiming

If the scientific information presented in an article is significantly flawed, the published articles may be retracted (removed). In these cases, journal action must comply with COPE recall guidelines. Articles are retrieved, indexed and referenced to the original article.

 

The process of identifying and handling research violations

Rahpooye Hekmat-e Honar, the editor takes appropriate measures to identify and prevent the publication of articles in which research violations have occurred regarding the content or authorship, including plagiarism, manipulation of citations, falsification of data and data fabrication, etc.. These measures include the following:

  • The first action of the editor of the journal is to inform the editorial office of the journal by providing copies of the relevant materials and a draft letter to the author in which he asks the author for a non-judgmental explanation.
  • If the author's explanation is unacceptable and it seems that serious unethical behavior has taken place, the issue will be referred to the publication committee through the editorial board. After review, the committee will decide whether the violation is serious enough to warrant a ban on further submissions (the author's articles).
  • If the violation is less severe, the editor, based on the recommendation of the publication committee, will send a letter of reprimand to the author and remind the author of the publication policies of the journal. If the article has been published, the editor may request that the author publish an apology in the journal to correct the record.

 

  • A warning will be sent to the corresponding author, and at the same time, any other works (articles) of the offending author or people related to the violation that is under investigation will be rejected immediately.

 

  • Authors are prohibited from being a member of the editorial board of the publication and cooperating as a reviewer in the journal. The publication reserves the right to take further action.

 

  • In serious cases of fraud that lead to the withdrawal of the article, the article withdrawal notice will be published in the journal and a link to the article will be provided in the online version. The online version is also marked with the retrieval date.
