Journal Policies and Article Writing Guidelines

1.  The content of the article is the sole responsibility of the author(s).

2.  If the article has more than one author, the authors must designate their representative as the corresponding author during the submission process.

3.  For articles derived from theses, dissertations, or research projects:

    3.1. This must be indicated in the first footnote of the article.

    3.2. The confirmation of the supervisor or principal investigator of the research project must be obtained, and they should be included as the corresponding author.

4.  The corresponding author must confirm in correspondence that the article has not been previously published elsewhere and will not be submitted to another conference or journal until the final decision from this journal is announced.

5.  The journal reserves the right to accept, reject, or edit the content of the article.

6.  To prevent plagiarism, similarity detection software is used. The decision to accept articles and send them for review rests with the Editor-in-Chief.

    *   All authors must first register their article in the similarity detection system of the Iran Research Institute for Information Science and Technology (IranDoc) at [https://tik.irandoc.ac.ir/](https://tik.irandoc.ac.ir/) and then upload the result, only if the similarity rate is below 20%, along with the article and other attachments in the journal's submission system.

    *   The Editor-in-Chief's email address for use in the IranDoc system is: philosophy.rahpooye@gmail.com

7.  The acceptance certificate is issued upon approval by the Executive Manager.

8.  The peer-review process is completely confidential. The article's status can be viewed and tracked in the journal's system.

9.  The author(s) must provide the following files to the journal:

    9.1.  Author Information File: Complete and upload the relevant form in Word format. Download the author information form: Click here.

        *   This file must include: Complete details of the author(s) in both Persian and English. In addition to the full name, it must include the organizational position, email address, and ORCID iD of the author(s) in both languages. If the article is derived from a thesis/dissertation, this must be explicitly stated on this page, including the title of the thesis/dissertation, field, university, and the exact defense date.

    9.2.  The author(s) must have an ORCID iD and enter it in the system and the information form. If you do not have an ORCID iD, please obtain one via the guide (link to get ORCID: https://orcid.org/register

    9.3.  Main Article File (Blind for Review): Including images, charts, tables, and maps in both Word and PDF formats (uploading the PDF file is mandatory).

    9.4.  Separate Image Files: Images, in addition to being included in the main text, must be submitted separately in TIF format with 300 DPI. Also, refer to the section on "How to Insert and Use Images, Tables, Charts, and Figures." Images must retain their essence and clarity when printed in black and white.

    9.5.  Separate File for Tables and Charts: In Word format. Note: If your tables or charts are essentially images, they must be provided as described above for images, and placing them in a Word file is ineffective. Tables and charts must retain their essence and clarity when printed in black and white.

    9.6.  Authors' Commitment Form (Cover Letter): The corresponding author must download the Authors' Commitment Form from here, complete it, and upload it along with other files during article submission.

    9.7.  Conflict of Interest Form: The corresponding author must download the Conflict of Interest Form from here, complete it, and upload it along with other files during article submission.

        *   Declaration of No Conflict of Interest: Authors must declare the absence of any conflict of interest in conducting the research at the end of the article, before the reference list, as follows: "The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest in conducting this research."

        *   A conflict of interest is defined as a situation where the personal material or non-material interests of the author(s) conflict with the research results, potentially influencing the research process or the honest reporting of results.

    9.8.  Failure to submit any of the aforementioned files will result in the article being returned for completion and will delay the review process.

II. Article Structure and Formatting Requirements

10. Articles must have the following sections and characteristics:

    10.1. Main Text File: Must be blind (without author names) and include images, charts, tables, and maps.

    10.2. First Page: Title, Abstract, and Keywords.

    10.3. Note: No footnotes should be mentioned on the title page and abstract page.

    10.4. Second Page Onwards: Introduction, Research Method, Literature Review, Main Body (including discussion, analysis, and findings), Conclusion, References, Detailed English Abstract (upon acceptance – according to the specifications below), and English Keywords.

    10.5. Abstract (Persian): Must include, in order: Problem Statement, Research Objectives and Main Questions, Research Method and Data Collection/Analysis Techniques, Research Findings, and Keywords (3 to 6 keywords). The Persian abstract should be between 350 to 450 words.

    10.6. Detailed English Abstract: Between 1200 to a maximum of 1500 words (a more detailed version of the short abstract) and include 3 to 6 keywords. This must be prepared and submitted by the author(s) after the article is accepted.

    10.7. Note: The Persian text of the detailed English abstract must also be uploaded and submitted along with the detailed English abstract after acceptance.

    10.8. Introduction: Must include, in order: Detailed explanation of the research problem, objectives, questions, and significance and necessity of the research. It must be written without direct quotations from other sources; in other words, "the introduction must be written independently by the authors."

    10.9. Research Method: Comes after the Introduction. It must include, in order: Research Method, Data Collection Technique, Data Collection Tools, Case Study/Statistical Population, Sample Size, Sampling Method, and Data Analysis Method. Providing all these items is mandatory.

    10.10. Literature Review: Mandatory for all articles. It must clearly articulate the distinction between the submitted research and previous studies. Listing titles of articles, theses/dissertations, and research projects along with their publication year is required. For articles, include the journal name, year, and issue number. For theses/dissertations, include the supervisor's name, university, and degree level. If citing a book is necessary, include the title, author, publication year, and publisher. Order of presentation: Articles, then Theses/Dissertations, then Research Projects and Books.

    10.11. Footnotes: Non-Persian names and terms (words that are terms or Persian transliterations of foreign names) as well as essential explanations (with source citation) must be included in a footnote the first time they appear in the main text of the article (excluding the title and abstract). The exception is citations of foreign sources, which must be written in their original language within the main text.

    10.12. Footnote Format: In the article text, use the normal footnote system in Microsoft Word only through Insert > Footnote from the References tab. Avoid converting footnotes to endnotes. Also, strictly avoid manual changes to the footnote numbering system or manually placing footnotes/endnotes in the text.

    10.13. Font (Typeface):

        *   Persian Text: Lotus font, size 13, line spacing: Single.

        *   English Text: Times New Roman font, size 11.

        *   Persian Footnotes: Font size 10.

        *   English Footnotes: Font size 8.

    10.14. The use of the Persian fraction slash (which is actually a slash, not a decimal separator) in numbers is prohibited. Use a decimal point (e.g., 22.5). Note that in this journal, these points will be displayed as decimal separators.

    10.15. No Page Layout: Authors must not perform any page layout (formatting) in the submitted article file. All texts, images, figures, tables, and charts must be presented in a single column, flush left, consecutively. Images, figures, tables, and charts should be placed after the relevant paragraph by pressing Enter once, In Line with Text. Images and their captions should be center-aligned, and the article text should be above and below them, not beside them.

    10.16. In the article text, the names of books, films, plays, and any titles of works must be written in Italics.

11. Conclusion:

    11.1. Must be logical, reasoned, clarifying the discussion and findings, and specifically answering the main questions of the article.

    11.2. Note: The conclusion must be written without direct quotations from other sources; in other words, "the conclusion must be entirely derived from the author(s)' investigation and analysis," except in exceptional cases.

III. Guidelines for Images, Tables, Charts, and Figures

12. How to Insert and Use Images, Tables, Charts, and Figures:

    12.1. All images, tables, charts, and figures must have a caption and must be referenced within the article text.

    12.2. Captions for all images, tables, charts, and figures must include a sequential number, sufficient explanation, and the source.

    12.3. For images, tables, charts, and figures not taken from elsewhere and prepared by the authors themselves, instead of a source, state: "Compiled by the authors," or "Photo: [Photographer's Name]," etc.

    12.4. All image files must be submitted separately with a resolution of 300 DPI, preferably in TIF format, or if not possible, in JPG format with printable quality, numbered sequentially, and uploaded separately in the system.

IV. Submission Conditions

13. Article Submission Conditions:

    13.1. Articles are only received and reviewed through the journal's website by uploading to the relevant section.

    13.2. The corresponding author must register and create an account on the journal's website and then proceed to upload the article file from the submission section.

    13.3. Articles sent to the journal's email address will not be reviewed under any circumstances.

    13.4. The author(s) must provide their complete information, including academic rank, name of institution/place of employment/university, address, contact phone numbers (landline and mobile), and email address.

14. Acknowledgments: In the Acknowledgments section, the names and titles of individuals, groups, and institutions that contributed materially or non-materially to the research process and facilitated its progress should be mentioned.

15. Citations and Reference List:

15.1. Direct quotations must be placed within quotation marks « ».

15.2. All in-text citations and entries in the reference list must follow the APA format. This includes online sources (URLs). Note that including URL1, etc., in citations and the reference list is incorrect.

    For a better understanding, refer to the detailed explanation of how to insert citations and the reference list, along with examples, at the end of this text.

15.3. Citations for non-Persian sources must be in the original language. Refer to the example at the end of this text for clarification.

15.4. Any citation in the article text or in figure captions must correspond to an entry in the reference list.

15.5. In-text citations must follow the APA format:

    *   For Persian sources: ([Author's Last Name], [Year of Publication], p. [Page Number])

    *   For Latin sources: ([Last Name], [Year], Pp. [Page Number])

15.6. Reference List: All citations used after quotations or other material taken from other sources must be listed in the reference list according to APA format.

15.7. The reference list should be arranged alphabetically, with the exception of sacred texts like the Holy Quran, which should be placed at the beginning of the list.

15.8. Most news and content on websites have a short link; it is preferable to use these in the reference list, especially for URLs containing Persian characters.

    *   Example:

        Original Long URL: `https://www.irna.ir/news/85269059/%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%AA%D9%82%D8%A7%DB%8C-%D8%B1%D8%AA%D8%A8%D9%87-%D8%B9%D9%84%D9%85%DB%8C-%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86-%D8%A8%D9%87-%D9%BE%D8%A7%D9%86%D8%B2%D8%AF%D9%87%D9%85-%D8%AC%D9%87%D8%A7%D9%86-%D8%B2%D8%A8%D8%A7%D9%86-%D9%81%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%B3%DB%8C-%D8%AF%D8%B1-%D8%B1%D8%AA%D8%A8%D9%87-%DB%B1%DB%B1`

        Can easily be cited as: `https://www.irna.ir/news/85269059`

15.9. Each citation must be written completely and independently of the previous citation. Under no circumstances should terms like «همان» (ibid.), "ibid.," or similar be used.

16. Detailed Explanation of Citations and Reference List Formatting (APA):

Reference List (End-Text References)

The reference list is a complete compilation of all sources cited in the text (thesis, article, etc.). It must:

*   Be organized alphabetically by the last name of the first author (use the title if the author is unknown).

*   Be placed on a new page at the end of the document.

*   Include all sources together in one list.

*   For multiple works by the same author, list them chronologically by year. If works are from the same year, list them alphabetically by title and add a lowercase letter (a, b, c, …) after the year.

*   Include all sources cited in the text.

In-Text Citations (APA)

In-text citations are required when using quotations or ideas from others' work. There are two main types: narrative and parenthetical.

*   Narrative: محمدی (1403) بیان می‌کند که ... / Taylor (2023) states that ...

*   Parenthetical: براساس تحقیقات جدید (Taylor, 2023) ... / Based on new research (محمدی، 1403) ...

For direct quotations, include the page number(s) after the year within the parentheses:

*   (محمدی، 1403، ص 105)

*   (Taylor, 2024, pp. 105-107)

Specific Rules:

*   Two Authors: List both last names, joined by "و" in Persian and "and" in English (use & in parentheses).

    *   محمدی و رضایی (1403) / Taylor and Jones (2024) state / (Taylor & Jones, 2024)

*   Three or More Authors: Use the last name of the first author followed by "و همکاران" in Persian or "et al." in English.

    *   محمدی و همکاران (1403) / Taylor et al. (2024) / (Taylor et al., 2024)

*   No Author: Use the first few words of the title.

    *   For books/reports: Italicize the title. (A Guide to Citation, 2024)

    *   For articles/chapters/web pages: Place in quotation marks. ("APA Citation", 2024)

*   Multiple Works by Same Author in Same Year: Add lowercase letters (a, b, c) after the year. (Taylor, 2024a) or (Taylor, 2024b)

*   Multiple Sources in One Parenthesis:

    *   Same author: List name once, then years chronologically. (Taylor, 2013, 2018, 2024)

    *   Different authors: List sources alphabetically by first author's last name, separated by semicolons. (Taylor & Jones, 2024; Wang & Chen, 2016)

*   Organization as Author: Use the full name of the organization/group.

    *   (وزارت راه و شهرسازی، 1403) / (International Organization Citation, 2024)

*   Secondary Source: Cite the original author and date first, followed by "as cited in" the secondary source author and date.

    *   (محمدی، 1403، به نقل از رضایی، 1399)

17. Examples for Better Understanding of Text Structure, Inserting Images, Charts, Tables, Quotations, Citations, Reference List, etc.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. The relevant information is presented in "Chart 1" (Mohammadi, 2025, p. 50).

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum, so that all the difficulties in presenting solutions and the difficult conditions of typing come to an end, and the required time for typesetting the main achievements can be used to answer the continuous questions of the existing design world.
